Our non-profit blog was inspired by a Filipina domestic from the Middle East who left her newborn baby – with placenta still attached – at the Bahrain Gulf Air airplane toilet - upon landing in Manila, read her story here lhttp://filipina-nannies-caregivers.blogspot.ca/2013/05/this-blog-was-inspired-by-filipina.html. Her despair and desperation inspired this blog to gather all possible stories in order to help, to inform and to empower all Filipina nannies, caregivers and maids -- to liberate themselves from abuses of all forms: physical, rape, verbal, exploitation, overtime working without pay.... Send us your stories. Stay anonymous - if you like. (No one can afford to deny this matter anymore). Write in Tagalog, or your dialect, or English, or French, or any language. ALL nannies, caregivers and domestic maids are welcome, send your stories to mangococonutmay1@gmail.com

Sharon Stone is counter-suing her former Filipina nanny.
Sharon Stone makes million of dollars per movie - which takes only a few months of acting work for her. But she refused to pay overtime and travel time for her Filipina nany who took care of her 3 sons.
Apparently, the Filipina nanny was fired after Stone learned she was paid overtime when traveling with the children and on holidays.
This is a very common problem for many Filipina nannies and caregivers - they work overtime - without getting paid. This is labor exploitation. Filipinas are very submissive quiet slaves who are afraid to speak up, that is why we have this blog to help them stand up for their rights.
Sharon Stone also criticized the accent of the Filipina nanny. The nanny's lawsuit claimed the star equated being Filipino with being stupid, and ordered her not to speak in front of her children so they would not "talk like you."
The former nanny is seeking unspecified damages for harassment, wrongful termination and retaliation claims.
This post will be updated because the court case will be in July 2013.

Sharon Stone counter-sues former nanny over loan claim
Sharon
Stone has launched a counter-legal claim against her former nanny, who
is suing the actress for wrongful dismissal amid allegations of racism.
Ms Elemen, sacked from her position as a live-in nanny to the Basic Instinct star's three children in 2011, claims she was abused because she is Filipino.
Ms Stone denies the allegations, which her publicist described as "absurd".
The action alleges Ms Elemen, who worked for Ms Stone for more than four years, was repeatedly mocked for her accent and her religious beliefs.
The 55-year-old actress tried to have the case thrown out, but a judge ruled her former employee had provided enough evidence to support the charges of harassment, failure to prevent harassment, retaliation and wrongful dismissal.
Ms Elemen claims Ms Stone told her not to speak in front of
her children so they would not "talk like you" and banned her from
reading the Bible inside the actress's house.
The Hollywood star's lawyer Daniel Gutenplan said: "All we have is that Ms Stone made comments about Filipino food, Filipino accents."
Ms Elemen, who was hired in October 2006 and was promoted to live-in nanny two years later, claims she was dismissed in February 2011 because Ms Stone found out she had been paid overtime when travelling with the children and on holidays.
The actress claims Ms Elemen repaid $3,000 (£2,000) of the $12,500 loan between August 2010 and January 2011, but stopped repayments after her dismissal.
The case against Ms Stone is set for 30 July.

Sharon Stone sued by former nanny over unfair dismissal
A former nanny employed by Sharon Stone is suing the Basic Instinct star for harassment and unfair dismissal.
Erlinda Elemen claims the actress insulted her Filipino heritage, culture, religion and accent.
The legal action alleges that Ms Elemen, who lived with the family, was fired after Stone discovered she was paid overtime during holidays.
The star's publicist dismissed the claims as "absurd", saying Elemen is seeking an "opportunity to cash in".
The action alleges Elemen, who worked for Stone for more than four years, was repeatedly mocked by Stone for her accent and her religious beliefs, adding that - on one occasion - she was forbade from reading the Bible in Stone's home.
Elemen, who was hired in 2006 to look after Stone's three sons, was promoted to a live-in position in 2008.
Stone's publicist Paul BlochThis is a frivolous lawsuit for absurd claims that are made-up and fabricated”
She was dismissed last year when
Stone discovered her accountants issuing payments for overtime when
Elemen worked during the holidays, and when she was travelling with the
family.
The former nanny is seeking unspecified damages for harassment, wrongful termination and retaliation claims.
Stone's publicist Paul Bloch called Ms Elemen a "disgruntled former employee", adding that she had sought disability and worker's compensation payments shortly after her original dismissal.
"Now, she is obviously looking for another opportunity to cash in," Bloch wrote, in a statement
"This is a frivolous lawsuit for absurd claims that are made-up and fabricated. Sharon Stone will be completely vindicated in court," a statement reads.
Ms Elemen's spokesman, Eric Rose, responded: "We can't wait to see Ms Stone in court."
Sharon Stone has counter-sued her Filipina former
nanny, who is pursuing the US actress for wrongful dismissal and
harassment including racist abuse, new court documents show.
Elemen, who worked as a live-in nanny for Stone until she was sacked in 2011, repaid $3,000 between August 2010 and January 2011, but then stopped repayments to the 55-year-old actress.
Her lawyers announced last year that she was suing the actress. A judge has ruled that the former nanny had provided enough evidence to support her charges of harassment, failure to prevent harassment, retaliation and wrongful dismissal.
Stone's lawyers sought to have the case -- which has a tentative trial date of July 30 -- dismissed, arguing that comments by the actress did not amount to harassment.
"All we have is that Ms Stone made comments about Filipino food, Filipino accents," said lawyer Daniel Gutenplan.
When the lawsuit was announced in May, the actress's publicist slammed the legal action as "absurd", claiming the ex-nanny was simply trying to "cash in" on Stone.
The lawsuit claimed the star equated being Filipino with being stupid, and ordered her not to speak in front of her children so they would not "talk like you."
Stone also banned Elemen from reading the Bible in the actress's home, even though the live-in nanny looked after the actress's three children and frequently traveled with them.
Elemen, who was hired in October 2006 and was promoted to head live-in nanny two years later, was dismissed in February 2011, after Stone learned she was paid overtime when traveling with the children and on holidays.
In 2011, the actress was ordered to pay $232,000 in compensation to a worker who injured his knee after slipping and falling in her backyard in 2006.
Sharon Stone suing former nanny
http://www.torontosun.com/2013/04/10/sharon-stone-suing-former-nannyErlinda Elemen filed a wrongful dismissal suit against the Basic Instinct star last year, accusing Stone of insulting her Filipino heritage and religious beliefs before allegedly firing her back in February 2011.
Stone previously blasted Elemen's claims and branded the case "frivolous" — and now she is hitting back with her own lawsuit.
In her complaint, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, the Hollywood star maintains her ex-employee borrowed $12,500 from her in 2010 but only paid back $3,000.
According to TMZ.com, Stone is suing for the remaining $9,500, as well as interest.
It's not the only legal battle Stone has brewing with domestic staff — a former maid sued the 55-year-old last month, claiming she was dismissed because she refused to do any heavy lifting after hurting her back.

Sharon Stone has counter-sued her Filipina former nanny, who is pursuing the US actress for wrongful dismissal and harassment including racist abuse, new court documents show.
In a breach-of-loan-agreement action filed in Los Angeles Superior Court this week, the "Basic Instinct" star says Erlinda Elemen owes $9,500 of a $12,500 loan she made to her in 2010.

Who Wins In Sharon Stone v. Maid Face-Off?
Sharon Stone’s ex-nanny Erlinda T. Elemen has sued her for verbal abuse over the nanny’s Filipino heritage and religious beliefs. See Sharon Stone sued by former nanny. The National Domestic Worker Alliance has rallied behind her, claiming domestics have little legal protection. See Domestic Workers Shocked by Sharon Stone’s Alleged Abuse of Nanny. Proposed bills—like California’s Domestic Worker’s Bill of Rights—could change that.
But if Stone’s maid recovers, she may be surprised at her tax bill. It’s often unclear what cases generate tax bills and how the plaintiff’s income is measured. Would the maid be taxed on her net recovery after lawyer fees or the gross including lawyer fees?
